My dissertation focuses on the phonetic documentation of Akuzipik, an endangered Indigenous language spoken mainly on Sivuqaq/St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. This research is conducted under the direction of Dr. Sylvia Woodrose Schwartz and Dr. Matthew Kelley.
I am currently (2024-) a phonetics research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Matthew Kelley. Previously (2020-2024), as a graduate teaching assistant, I was responsible for teaching and/or facilitating various undergraduate and graduate linguistics courses.
At GMU, I am a member of the PhonLab and the manager of the Language Documentation Lab. I am also the vice-president of the GMU Linguistics Society.

Personal life
My husband and I are originally from Brazil, but we have been living in Virginia for 10 years.
In 2022, we adopted Milo, our energetic, loving goofball. He brings much joy to our lives and makes sure that we take regular breaks from work to go for walks (even when it’s raining or snowing).
My hobbies include reading, listening to music and podcasts, and doing all sorts of puzzles (jigsaw, crossword, sudoku, Wordle, Gramle, Murdle… literally any kind).
